ACADEMICS

The transformative and rigorous learning process at Park Cities Montessori is designed to help our students grow both in and out of the classroom. At PCM, we understand that each of our students has individual wants and needs. We believe that learning can only be fostered from a feeling of mutual respect and compassion, and we maintain those values in everything we do.

Our unique approach provides students with the proper support system that will help lead them to a successful path.

Each day is filled with opportunities to experience new educational and social situations to further each child's development.

We have designed a logo that represents the in depth pieces of a Montessori Education.

PHILOSOPHY

Park Cities Montessori follows the teachings created by Maria Montessori. Our logo is meaningful in the sense that the two branches and their leaves represent the core areas of the Montessori Philosophy.

The first five leaves represent the five areas you’ll find in a Montessori community.

When you visit our school one thing you might notice is that the classroom is organized a bit differently than other classrooms you might be used to seeing. There’s a good reason for that.

The layout of a Montessori community isn’t random or accidental. Materials are deliberately placed in different areas that correspond with the five curriculum areas that will be addressed in the classroom. These five areas of focus are:

  • Language

  • Sensorial

  • Math

  • Cultural Studies

  • Practical Life

PRINCIPLES

The second five leaves represent the five principles the Montessori philosophy revolves around.

These 5 basic principles are as follows:

  • Respect for the Child

  • The Absorbent Mind

  • Sensitive Periods

  • The Prepared Environment

  • Auto education

Here at Park Cities Montessori we hold these 5 principles to the highest regard.
